What is a Rock Door?

When looking for a new external door for your home, you may have come across the brand Rockdoor. These doors are the toughest, safest and most energy efficient doors that are available on the market, which is why here at Value Doors we are a proud supper and installer of these doors.

Rock door is simply a brand of Composite Doors which is considered the best in the business! To find out more about composite doors please click here.

With the slogan ‘not all doors are made equally’ you can immediately recognise that these doors outshine other Composite Doors that are available. This week our blog is going to look at our incredible Rockdoor range and why they make perfect external doors.

If you’re wanting a solid as a rock door, then our Rock doors are perfect for your home. As expert Rock door installers, our Rock doors come in a variety of different designs and colours. Ranging from Onyx Black to Chart well Green, a Rock door Composite Door guarantees to transform your home’s external image.

The incredible security and strength of an Ultimate Rockdoor Composite Door have led to them receiving a security rating of one as standard, which is the highest rating available. The strength of these doors is thanks to the door being made to measure, being carbon fibre reinforced, a 44mm rigid core and a 3mm high impact skin both internally and externally. Whereas a Kite marked secure cylinder, German engineered hook locks, a full-length lock keep and a deadlock have created a door where the only way through is with a key!

Rock door has been the driving force behind composite door technology for over 20 years.

We use nickel-coated solid brass for our hook locks, high impact PVC-u skins to resist cut-through, carbon fibre to reinforce our inner frames and a unique S-Glaze system that locks the glass into your door for life.  Nearly 70% of burglaries involve forced entry through the front or back door. Our Nickle coated solid brass hook locks slide into steel keeps that run the full length of the outer frame.  This means Rock doors can’t be forced open.

Rock door hit the headlines as the ‘Door That Beat The Bobbies’ when local police had to abandon their attempts to break through a Rock door with battering rams.

And because every Rock door is made-to-measure rather than mass-produced to a standard shape before being trimmed to size, it’s an exact fit for your home.  It means no leaks, no draughts and lower heating bills. Rock doors are available in 13 colours so you can chose what’s right for you. As Rock doors are ‘made to order’, not ‘cut to size’, all colours are available inside and out.

You can maintain the condition of your new door by cleaning it once a month. For the door leaf, use a soft cloth and warm, soapy water to remove grit and grime which can build up and cause problems when the door opens and closes. Wipe the door leaf dry with a soft cloth. For the door frame, use a new bucket of warm, soapy water and clean all around the frame. If there are stained areas or dirt that won’t shift you may need a uPVC cleaning product. Make sure you use the cleaner correctly in order to avoid spoiling the finish of the door.
